Guinea Pig Diet

A Guinea Pigs diet is the most import factor in ensuring your guinea pig has a happy healthy life. you need to make sure if you are going to buy a Guinea pig or already have one that there diet follows these specific guidelines:).
The most important thing in your Guinea pigs diet is hay, your Guinea Pigs should always have as much hay available to them as possible, they need hay to help trim their teeth and keep them in shape, hay is also very good for the Guinea Pigs digestive system I like to use any type of hay that I get from shops I trust such as pets at home, Tesco or Wilkinson's.

Dry pellet food is also essential for your Guinea Pigs diet, I like to use Guinea Pig food that has a mixture of things in it and is not just one single type of pellets because I find my Guinea pigs like that best. Guinea pigs should always have food available to them again I  buy my Guinea Pig food from brands I trust.
Water is also extremely important for your Guinea pigs diet and overall health it is so important,  Guinea Pigs should have constant fresh water available to them at all times.

Guinea Pigs should have one cup of vegetables each everyday, try and stay away from the vegetables with a high water content such as cucumber and Iceberg lettuce these can upset the Guinea Pigs stomach and give them diarrhea. Guinea pigs can also have fruit but these should be considered as a treat and not given on a daily basis:).
I hope you enjoyed this post on my Guinea Pigs diet I would like to hear your guinea pigs diet or any tips you have in the comments :)

DIY Chew Toy

Your Guinea Pigs will have hours of fun with the extremely simple and affective chew toy DIY. All you will need are some scissors and an empty toilet role:).
You want to cut a straight line throw the tube until all of it has been cut, so you are left with several small circles.

Once you have all your small cut out circles you want to start to fold them into each over, it is a bit fiddly at first but once you start forming a base it gets easier, start by putting two through each over and go from there.
So this is the final product! your pigges will love this it is something for them to chew on whilst you are at school so they don't get bored, it is also lots of fun i know my two absolutely loved it!:).

Ned and Nigel

Here are my two guinea pigs , aren't they adorable!:) they are a new addition to my family, I have only had them for around a few months , and I look forward to many more months I have with them to learn more about there personalities and to connect with them more.

Guinea pigs have always been an animal that I have been interested in  at a very young age,  and it was only recently that I decided that I was going to do it , after lots and lots of research making sure I knew exactly what having Guinea pigs would be like and making sure I could handle them and their demands ;)

Even thought I  have only had them for a few months I  am pleased to say that I am so glad that i got them they have been a new interest to focus on and I look forward to coming home on a daily basis to see them and let them run around my garden, I have yet to find out exactly what their personalities are like but I know that Nigel (on the left second picture) is the more shy skittish one out of the two and Ned (the one on the right second picture) is more brave and curious but also skittish

I love hearing them scattering around in their hutch and squeaking when they are happy. they are so cute and I love them so much. you will be seeing lots more of them on my future blog posts.
